Bloomsburg Field Hockey Defeats Slippery Rock 8-0

BLOOMSBURG- Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) scored two goals and had two assists to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 8-0 win over Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon.
Scoring started early for the Huskies when Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored a goal off a Vanartsdalen assist 5:50 into the game. Brieann Wolfe (Perkasie/Pennridge) added another goal in the eighth minute of play off an assist from Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl). The Huskies would go on to score 3 more goals in the opening 35 minutes of play, with Vanartsdalen netting a penalty shot to end the half.
Wolfe began scoring for the Huskies 10 minutes into the second half with her second goal of the game off an assist from Vanartsdalen. The Huskies would go on to score two more goals in the half, with the last goal coming from Amanda Rily (Tannersville/Pocono Mountain East) off an Aime Sgarlat (Dallas/Lake-Lehman) assist in the 63rd minute of play.
The Bloomsburg defense was outstanding once again, not allowing the Rock a single shot on net.
The Huskies now 13-1 on the season will host Catawba College on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
